Ever since I was little, I’ve loved everything about movies.
I looked forward to every Friday knowing that my mom and I would visit our local Blockbuster, searching through rows and rows of DVDs until we found our picks for the night. Then, we would go home, watch them together and discuss our thoughts. There were times when I would select the same movie over and over until my mom would buy it for me, just so that I would pick something different for our movie night.
Since then, my love for film has expanded into all things entertainment and lifestyle.
I joined the NIU independent student-run news media organization the Northern Star as a lifestyle reporter with two goals: to write film reviews and have my work published online. Then I fell in love with writing lifestyle and entertainment content in general. I became the lifestyle editor and am now editor-in-chief.
This blog is a space for college students and the DeKalb community to read about local events as well as film and music reviews, student life and more.
